Sometimes it’s just as important among the rehab centers that are out there that you find the right rehab center as it is that you get the addict to agree to go to rehab. Not all rehabs are the same. Obviously, if you are on a time crunch, they addict has come to you and said I need help and I need help now you might not have known that they were in trouble and didn’t have a number ready. In those cases it can be a bit of a scramble especially if they addict doesn’t want other people to know that they are having problems.

Relapse Prevention: Just As Important As Rehab And Recovery

Not all rehabs focus enough on relapse prevention. They get the addict sober. They talk with the addict about the underlying reasons they drink but they don’t really talk to the addict enough about their life after rehab and the cravings and temptations that may arise. If an addict doesn’t know the warning signs and how to proceed once the warning sides present themselves then there is a good, good chance they’ll be at the bar before they are at an AA meeting or on the steps of the sponsor’s office or home.

Substance Abuse Help: A Phone Call Away

Substance abuse help is only a phone call away. If you are an addict and you are in a situation where you went to someone’s house and they took out drugs you may not have been prepared for this and now you are here looking at the drugs like you can go back to it one time. You are looking at the drugs like maybe it’s okay to go back to it just this one time. Your moth is watering etc. Have a number of a rehab, or a sponsor or a friend handy that can talk you out of that situation and come and pick you up if necessary.
