A drug rehab when it comes to an intervention or the actual rehab stay can do more than just help the addict they can help the family of the addict as well. Addiction doesn’t just affect the addict it affects the entire family and friends of the addict. Usually, it’s hardest on the people closest to the addict whether that’s the addict’s kids, spouse or family that they live with, if it’s a boss than it affects the coworkers. If it’s a spouse chances are it affects the partner a great deal.

When it comes to drug abuse there is more going on than just the drugs. That’s why it’s so important during rehab whether it’s inpatient rehab or outpatient rehab that the addict go through counseling and therapy and talk about some of the underlying reasons why they drink or do drugs. They may not always know but usually when you start to get an addict talking they will eventually hit on some of the frustrations they are faced with day to day or things from the past that still haunt them.
