Alcohol Treatment: What To Expect From A Drug And Alcohol Rehab
Alcohol Treatment: Know When And When Not To Push
Not everyone knows that much about how to approach alcohol treatment. Some people know some people don’t. It’s not always about pushing the addict and being on them every day until they go. They can’t go for you. They have to go for them. You can pack your pages and leave and that may make them go but they are going because you are more important than the alcohol.
Drug Intervention: When You Walk Out
An addict is going to try and push your buttons in a drug intervention. They’re going to try and say things to get you to quit bugging them about their addiction problem. They are going to try and hurt you or turn the tables on you. They want you to walk out. Don’t walk out. If you want out they won. That may seem silly or childish or like you are playing a game with them but if you stay then they have to face what you are saying.
Drug And Alcohol Rehab: Sometimes You Need To Change Direction
Any good drug and alcohol rehab will tell you that if you keep going to their rehab and you keep falling off the wagon that maybe their program isn’t right for you. They won’t continue to take your money and promise to cure you of your disease. There is no cure there is only hard work. You have to work at staying sober.
Addiction: You Can’t Get An Addict To Quit For You
You see it all the time and it’s hard to watch a spouse, or partner begging, pleading with the addict to quit, to quit their addiction for them. It’s heart breaking because this person feels like they add needs to prove their love to them and when they addict doesn’t chose them, they chose the bottle, they feel like they addict doesn’t love them but the truth is the addict has a disease and until they are ready to own up to that they can’t see past the bottle or the drug.
